I am scheduled to
continue work in late September 2006 on what we call "The Bossa
Project". A collection of original songs inspired by Jobim, Gilberto,
and others. We have recorded 14 songs so far, some classic Bossa Nova
songs from that era (early 60's), as well as some very fine
under-exposed standards. John Van Eps is arranging, producing and
playing.
In addition, I have been approached by yet another international record
company to record an album of new original material. I will begin
writing songs for this project this Fall, and will explore
collaboration with other musicians, writers and producers. I hope to
see some sort of theme or concept emerge as we go forward.
The NEW re-issue of SKINNY BOY 2.0 has been very successful and was
among the top sellers on CDBaby.com in August. We did not expect the surge
and interest, especially from international fans, so we are running low
on stock. This is good.
I have spoken to most of CHICAGO members about being willing to perform
more obscure songs from early albums (Mother, All is Well, Fancy
Colours) at the next fan convention. We think some feedback from fans
would be useful. Please use the RL
yahoogroups forum for your suggestions.
